Welcome Message from Hubert Yao
Dear African nephrologists, dear AFRAN members
AFRAN, the African Association of Nephrology, continues its development and its openness to African nephrologists. Leadership of African nephrology, it is the representative of African nephrologists within the international nephrology community.
I was honored by the trust placed in me to preside our association following the Abidjan congress in December 2021 for 2 years. My objective and that of the elected board members is to continue to develop AFRAN administrative with our administrative office in South Africa, while a lot of actions has been accomplished with my predecessor, Anthony WERE, peace to his soul.
AFRAN also accompanies you at the scientific level, with the twelve commissions which are active with the organization of webinars, but also, the monthly quiz, our journal whose close objective is to integrate pubmed, the dissemination of information on African nephrology. Our website and associated media (African nephrologists whatsapp group, AFRAN facebook, twitter, and youtube channel) aim to bridge the gaps and bring together all nephrologists of this large continent.
So dear colleagues, I welcome you in the AFRAN community, start by being active member, join our family and act to the development of nephrology in our continent.
The general assembly of our association which was held during the last congress in Abidjan made the choice for the next 2023 congress, the destination of Egypt, precisely Cairo, a historical city with monuments that you will not see anywhere else.
The scientific program is very rich with education, workshops and conferences covering all aspects of nephrology.
Dear all, the Covid 19 infection that has hurt us so much is behind us now!!
So come many to celebrate African nephrology with the pharaohs.
Wishing us all, a fruitful congress.
I look forward very much to working with you and for you as I take over as your President of the AFRAN
Hubert Yao
President of AFRAN
